Hi,
I’m trying to set up a new PVR system. During the Map digital channels to EPG channels process, many channels are located, however I only get sound, no picture. Thus live TV doesn’t work.

Australian television uses the European DVB-T standard (MPEG2). Logs included. Hope someone can come up with the fix.

GBPVR v1.4.7
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2200
Win XP SP3
ASUS P5QPL-AM motherboard
Dual Core E5300 2.6GHz CPU
2GB RAM
1TB HD

did you installed any MPEG-2 video decoder?

You can try SAF (link below)

Thanks for your suggestion Hoborg, however I still have a problem.

I’ve installed SAF per your suggestion – no change. I’ve still got sound but no picture.

I did get some important clues from the install. The SAF installer does a hardware software check. Under the “software” section, right after checking the OS version, there is a line which says:

VMR9 ver.: 6.5.2600.5512 status Failed!

That’s bad right? Sorry I’m new to this.

I’m using the graphics that came with the MB, windows reports it as, Intel® G41 Express Chipset. It’s all recently purchased hardware, it should be able to run VMR9, should it not?

Any Ideas?

- just launch windows web update

Run GB-PVR in window mode and enable liveTV (or something to reproduce you problem)
START - SAF - TOOLS - graphstudio.
In graphstudio File- connect to remote graph.
Now you will see graph with filters. Create screenshot and post here.

...or just post new GB-PVR logs after SAF install.

Thanks again for your help hoborg, unfortunately, I'm still not getting very far with this.

I was out of action for a week as I've changed to another internet provider.

I've run windows update and also installed the latest version of directX.

When I reinstalled SAF, it said VMR9 was working - that's better :o

I still don't have a picture however Sad

I managed to get Graph studio to run. Attached are the screen caps. I can also post the GBPVR logs if you wish.

For some reason the file didn't attach. I'll try that again.

As you can see, you didnt use SAF decoders bud Mainconcept one. So uninstall mainconcept and try again.

At first I had no idea what you where talking about. I had to google "mainconcept"

I did follow the installation guide for GBPVR which says; install your card and the divers for it.

The Hauppauge card CD installs Win TV along with the drivers. Actually you can choose not to install Win TV, in retrospect that’s what I should have done. Win TV uses the mainconcept codec.

Anyway, uninstalling Win TV fixed the problem, I’ve now got both sound and picture in GBPVR – hoorrraaaaay. Smile

Thanks so much for your help.
