No remote after installing 2250

I added a 2250 to my pc yesterday and only installed the drivers. I got everything set up and worked great all last night then this morning I noticed the pc didn't go to sleep during the night. I rebooted the pc and now my hauppauge remote doesn't work I tried it in all 3 cards and in wintv and GBPVR and it won't work. I've even tried reinstalling the ir driver. The remote worked fine all last evening.

I've tried the remote in all three cards so I don't think changing the value in the registry key would help. Something happened when I rebooted. I'm thinking about blowing the whole works up and starting over but it takes 2 solid days of work to redo this pc since it's also my gaming pc.

Your computer didn't do an update by any chance? My remote stopped working too. I also am using a 2250. It had been working fine. I think my machine did an auto update and messed something up. Now I have to find out what happened. Until then my wife has to use a mouse to control things. She's not happy with it.

Come to think of it, my machine hasn't gone to sleep lately either. It may be linked.

No updates, just installed the new 2250 which was a white box special with no remote. I only installed the driver for the new card and didn't bother rebooting until the next day when I noticed the pc didn't go to sleep that night. Remote worked the night before after the install but hasn't worked since the reboot. I'm stumped but wiping and reinstalling everything is just to much work.

Remote works now, I had to install the Wintv 1.2 software and switch the remote to the 2250 to get it working.

I suspect it was the switch to the 2250 that did it. The remote has to be plugged into the device that takes precedent. I think the 2250 in the PCIe slot probably takes precedence over any cards in the PCI slots. As soon as you rebooted, the new system configuration automatically switched the remote input that was being monitored, from your old card to the new one.

Glad it was an easy fix.
