This is my sole remaining problem and it's really bugging me. I can play/ff/pause recorded 264 videos no problem, but when I exit from playing the file, GBPVR crashes and I get dumped back into XP. I can ff to the end of the file, and when playback stops "naturally" at the end of the file, then the problem does not occur.

Other info:
- using CoreAVC, shows CUDA acceleration, CPU usage during playback is around 20%. The files play perfectly.
- other apps play the files without crashing
- recorded OTA HDTV plays perfectly

Thanks for any and all ideas... logs are attached

try a different demux? are these files from a hdpvr? ahhh,downloads....

maybe db errors in playback_position?
there's a command to clear them,i just use an sql editor..
everything else looks ok...last thing to happen when stopping is an update of playback position..

I'm pretty far out of my comfort zone here... thanks for the reply.

The file is mkv. When it plays in GBPVR both CoreAVC and Haali media splitter load, as they have tray icons. ffdshow does not crash GBPVR on exit, but the playback isn't perfect like with CoreAVC.

I guess the media splitter is automatically chosen. I uninstalled Haali, installed the MPC splitter, and Graphstudio wouldn't draw anything. Does the MPC splitter not work with these files?

On a side note, MPCHC is pretty nice. Here's what I see when I play the file in terms of cpu util:
GBPVR/ffdshow: 45%
GBPVR/CoreAVC/no CUDA: 40%
GBPVR/CoreAVC/CUDA: 20%
MPCHC: 8%

oh, no....it won't split those but good news, they have a mkv splitter same place...Smile
[works pretty well also]
yea, mpchc is a must have...if anything for a fallback and to test/get info on media files..
plus, when all else fails, watch it in mpchc...it's incredibly efficient...Smile

since you're on XP, try the 'MPC Video Decoder' for h264 decoding and you'll get that same cpu% in gbpvr...Smile
it's really a unique decoder, true full dxva...Big Grin

pBS,

Thanks for your suggestions, but prior to reading your response, I decided to try a different audio decoder, as I had run out of things to try. I'd been using Arcsoft, which was installed with the Totalmedia software. I installed ffdshow and just used the audio, and lo and behold, it worked!!! No more crashes!!! So for me, anyway, CoreAVC video + Arcsoft audio = bad news.

Thanks again!
