I have to admit my reasoning for a decent PC client is mainly for using gbpvr's search facility to spot upcoming shows that may be worth recording. Viewing of shows/live tv is handy though for the odd time I'm working in the garage and something worthwhile is on.

If PVRX2 worked better with VNC then that would probably be enough to keep me happy. ;(

Have you tried EWA to search for shows - IMHO it's much more flexible than GBPVR's search.

I have, but not too recently. I probably didn't give it enough time, but for some reason I just didn't seem to get on with it. I think I find the gbpvr search screen less cluttered and quicker to navigate.
Odd things like my EPG description data being displayed as one very wide line with no wrapping didn't help.

(with apologies to all involved with EWA!).

Definitely worth another look - make sure you use the css version (guide2) though... while you are at it, check out the autosearch/autorecord feature - it's really something special.

Big Yoda,

1. Browse to your GBPVR share on the server in Windows Explorer.
2. Right-click, Properties, Security.
3. Select "Users" and then Edit permissions.
4. Select "Users" again and give them full control.
5. OK all the windows.

Sorted out most of the client problems I was having.
"It's better than a box!"
