HI All
After many, many happy months with a stable HTPC, something has broken it.
Windows XP froze on the login screen and wouldn't get any further
Windows blue screened when trying to boot into safe mode so that wasn't an option (and weird that I could get to the login screen when I booted normally, it just froze after I logged in)
CHKDSK was run but problem was still there
Tried to run a repair install of windows but that crashed half way through
Subsequent attempts result in crashes
So now after all that I'm left in an endless cycle of bluescreen crashes (and now way to turn off autoreboot)
Only way I can think of to fix this is to format the drive and start again.
So what I thought I'd do was to transfer the Hard disk from my HTPC to another machine have a look at it and extract anything useful.
So my question is, is there anything I can take from the GBPVR install that will enable me to keep my recordings in the recording database? The recordings themselves are all on a separate drive.
Any help gratefully received.
Rich
