I've just picked up a new universal LNB for my dish. It has 9.75 and 10.60 GHz local oscillators. Everything I read about universal LNBs has me believing that to switch from low band to high band, the LNB is switched with a 22 KHz tone.

What I don't understand is that when setting up the LNB in capture source in GBPVR's config, the LNB switch settings is up in the MHz range. What should I put in the LNB switch settings?

This is the first time I've come across this problem, as my previous LNBs only had a single LO frequency.

Hmm, I think the penny has dropped... It seems to make sense that the switch frequency is the frequency at which GBPVR requests the use of the 2nd LO and at that point will send 22 KHz to the LNB - is this right?

Bill.

Sounds right to me as well.

I'd just go with the defaults in config. They seem to work with the LNB's I've used.

Yes, I think you're right. In the past I've had to change the defaults, as many Ku band LNBs here have a single LO that operates at 11.3 GHz. This is the first "Universal" LNB I've had with two local oscillators.

Just a quick update to report that putting 9.75 and 10.60 as LO1 & LO2 and 11700 as the switch frequency (as per default) worked fine, so obviously as long as these settings are right, GBPVR knows to send the 22 KHz signal to the LNB when high-band TPs are requested.

The only problem I find now is that sometimes when changing channel, I get no signal, as guess there can be a delay before the LNB switches between local oscillators. Wideband LNBs with a single LO don't have this problem.
