Just got my popcornhour A-110. Wanting to give it a run but,

Just checking to see why I can't download nmtinstall from http://mvpmc.epgtools.com/NMTInstall.exe.

Is it still the good file?

That's the wrong link (I will update the Dummies guide) to the backup site that whurlston provided. Here is the good link

http://www.mvpmc.org/~mvallevand/NMTInstall.exe

Just tried the new link still same problem. I moved over to my testing computer and scanned your file with over 20 online scanners. Looks like it might be another flaw in Norton Internet security 2010 with the ws.reputation.1 bug.

Well unless your after my Star Trek recording Archive.

After reading about ws.reputation.1 issues it is unlikely that NMTInstall will ever pass this. Sorry. Typically you don't need to download this file a second time, once you trust it. When I do update this for NPVR I will include an MD5 checksum.

The stupid thing about this Norton detection is if I actually wanted to download your Star Trek collection I would have added a backdoor into mvpmcx2 and avoid all Windows protection.

I know since Norton 2010 came out trying to download anything other than a .jpg you get alerts. At least Norton fix the memory and CPU hog (Nobody heard this from me. Use your best judgment. Norton can be disabled, then download, then Norton turned back on, scan the file and everything is fine. You can even run the file without alerts.)

So far I can see my computer share name on popcorn hour but no folders yet. The shares work on my MVP. Popcorn hour can even see my wireless laptop folders but not my main file server. I will keep reading threads. I am sure it is something simple If I still have trouble I will start a new thread. This one is completed and answered.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I hope this thread helps others with Norton 2010 alerts.
