Perhaps I should be more specific.
Using HVR-1600.
I want the IRBlaster/channel changer capability. I don't care if the remote works. I'm using the Hauppauge Media Center Remote Control Kit on Windows 7.

Orb2.0 can change channels (little audio issue we won't talk about)
Windows Media Center can change channels.
WinTV7 can change channels.

There is no Hauppauge IR blaster running. I don't have the ir blaster plugged into the HVR-1600. It is a USB based ir/transceiver. It controls my Motorola DCT700 STB.

I cannot get NPVR to send any signals to the STBox. If there is a channel changer executable required for the device, I don't know what that would be. Media center just figured it out when I set up the tuner.

I saw a post about the irremote.ini file, and I did those changes, but I nothing changes. I doubt that's even being used with the MCE and is a left over from my previous use of the IRBlaster.

So, I would agree, and hoped it would "just work" when I installed NPVR, but it does not.

Okay, so, some corrections are required.
irremote.ini is needed.
Renaming that causes an issue on a reboot, so some driver is obviously caching it.

WinTV7 is using the IR blaster, not the MCE integrated USB. Unplug the IR blaster cord, and WinTV7 no longer can change channels. Funny WinTV isn't even integrated right with Hauppauge's own remote package.

Media Center and Orb2.0 both use the USB based solution. They don't need IR blaster plugged in, or running.

I can get NPVR to change channels using HaupBlast.exe as the device channel changer. However, there seems to be some contention issue. Pick the channel from the channel listing, and the TV program stutters, seems to freeze on the first digit, then usually changes properly.
