Works fine here too after the patch.

I seem to be having this same problem yet I've installed the release 1 patches. First play using the Micrsoft decoder on HD H.264 files results in 4x3 aspect. Scrolling through or selecting auto off a right click aspect menu fixes it. Interestingly, I don't have the problem playing HD MPEG files. Are there other changes to the unmanaged.dll since this patch above?
It looks like the above patch fixed my problem too.

sub, I'm not sure how I can help, but the newer unmanaged.dll in the R1 patch release on Johnson's thread up top seems to have reintroduced this problem. Switching to this older patch still cures it. I assume switching back to the older .dll on this thread breaks something else you've corrected.

This is the problem that seems to have been reintroduced. I mentioned above that the patches on Johnson's Getting Started thread did not seem to contain this fix. This was on 2.0.3: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...READ!!!!**
I am now having the problem again in 2.1.5. I wonder if the others above have updated and not encountered the issue again?

Yes I am now having this problem - I think only in the last couple of days.
4.3 on auto almost fills 16.9 also pillarbox is too wide. Cycling through the modes does not help. I have tried all the 2.1.5 unmanaged dll's including the original so I think it may be one of the other patches, This is with PDVD11 codec Just had a thought - upgraded to latest SAF 6 has that changed any config settings?

I'v noticed that my latest recordings of Star Trek does not change to 4:3 when it starts playback like it used to. I wonder if it has anything to do with the latest version of NextPVR. I have not changes any setup or codec in months.

I have done a bit more investigation. - Maybe I was a bit quick off the mark yesterday :o
It appears in my case to be a Broadcaster Problem - It looks like the man who switches between 19.9 and 4.3 at Challenge TV (Reruns of 80's & 90's game shows and Sky TV's Freeview Spoiling attempts - a favourite of the wife ) has gone off on his summer holidays- leaving all content at 16.9 aspect ratio (Shows they don't give a wotsit about what they Broadcast as long as it's using up Bandwidth :mad

I'v done some more investigating too, and it turns up that all the episodes of Star Trek that do not change aspect correctly was recorded from my dvb-t capture, which means that they are H.264 encoded, and those that works are MPEG from dvb-c. Would be something you are interested to look at Sub? "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy" |
