OK, I've been digging around in the forums for quite a while now, and maybe I'm just being dense, but I can't seem to figure out how to get comskip support on my MVP with NPVR! With GBPVR, if I paused a video, you could see where the commercial breaks were, and I could press the play button to manually skip the commercial I was in the middle of. I've bumped into several threads talking about the postprocessing.bat file to get compskip to process the recorded videos, but even there I'm not certain of exactly where to copy the comskip.exe and supporting files.

Does anyone have it working with your MVP, and how did you get it going?

Thanks,
Kevin

Do you have the latest dongle loaded? Martin posted a link to it in section 6 here:

I got this working in the most basic way. Under the Scripts directory, in C:/Users/Public/NPVR, I created a file called postprocessing.bat. In that file are the following two lines:

cd c:\comskip
comskip %1

Then I downloaded the current version of comskip from here. I used version 80.042, but whatever is current is probably best. After downloading, simply unzip all of the contained files into the C:\comskip directory. A note in the readme states that you should manually double-click the .exe files in that directory and confirm to Windows that the file should always be allowed to run.

For existing files, you'll have to open a command window and run comskip.exe with the recording filename as the arguement. Note that my method doesn't allow for any smart processing (i.e. one recording at a time), but comskip starts at a low priority by default, so I haven't seen it cause any problems yet.

spdrac1, you can save yourself a lot of typing when working with pre-existing recordings by just click-and-dragging the recording filename onto comskip.exe. Comskip fires up and starts working on the file immediately. Smile

For NPVR, I just replied to someone else on the same issue.

Perhaps this will help?
