Yahoo!  No wires to the bedroom, no bridges or gaming adapters!

Just thought you'd like to know.....

I been thinking just today about getting a second MVP and read your post. Do you have any additional information on other new features?

You can pick up a linksys WRT54g router for usually less than the linksys bridge costs, and yet the wrt54g can easily become a 4 port bridge.
It can be more complicated than this depending on your setup. Only some AP boxes will talk to other AP boxes. Generally an AP will always behave as a master device in any given wireless network and as such won't talk to other master devices. In my case, I have a 2Wire router which is an AP and it won't talk to a Netgear router I have which will only function in AP mode.

I just got my setup working - using the equipment I already had - had a Belkin wireless router F5D-7234 - upgraded the firmware and turned on Bridging capability (WDS). Also had an Apple Airport Extreme unit I used to connect as a client to my existing network to stream music to my stereo - I changed that to work in WDS mode as a remote client, and turned DHCP off on the Airport - kept it on the same channel and ssid. I connected the MediaMVP to the Airport. The PVR card is on my computer connected to the Belkin router. The router and the Airport Express are at least 40 feet away on different floors, and everything including video streaming works great. Just thought I'd report that you could use the Apple Airport Extreme in this setup too as it already has WDS support - that way you can avoid the need for a repeater. Although Apple says it will not work with non-Apple products in WDS, obviously it does.
