- added support for SPDIF audio with new model of HDPVR2.

You do know the HDPVR 2 can use a HDMI splitter to break the HDCP and allow recordings using the HDMI cable from your satellite TV or cable STB? This is well known in the various AV forums. I have one and it works great! I can also record in AC-3 from HDMI or SPDIF. That took some help from Hauppage tech support as the needed files were not on the supplied installation discs. The only problem I have is that the software (Hauppage Capture) will stop working when the recording is stopped and has to be restarted. Hoping I can get the NextPVR software to work as a streamer on my home network.

Yes some splitters do work however I was one of the unlucky guinea pigs who rushed to buy the original HDPVR2 before AC3 support to newer models months later so my box gathers dust. My HDPVR works great with NextPVR though so you should be happy.
