I am assuming that there must be a buffer or cache for the clients to read-ahead a video file that is being played back from the server -- to compensate for network delays and and server hiccups. Is the size of this disk / read ahead file cache adjustable?
I an having a problem when my NPVR server gets very busy (high disk IO) when a trans-code process runs (started as part of a post-processing.bat file). This trans-code process loads the disk on the server so that playback on my clients becomes choppy. Once the trans-code is complete everything is fine. I would like to increase the size of the cache / buffer to see if it can resolve this problem.
