Can NPVR support 12 or more tv tuners?

then of course there's the bit where we all wonder how 12 or 16 tuners could be for "personal, non-commercial use" as the license for NextPVR is limited to such use... then the OP assures us it is for personal use, sometimes with an odd explanation for how he really needs so many tuners, we all say "huh..." and move on. good thing I've saved us all that, eh?

Thanks for the warning about possible drivers issue.
Will email the tech support before making any purchase.

And yes, this is for personal use.
I always get more than needed.
Also easier for me to allocate some tuners to another tv software if needed, connect to different source and do a double recording together with npvr and pray that at least one of the recordings has zero artifact. Even a split second of artifact will make me feel bad if it is something which I want to keep.

Both the HVR2200 (for analog recording) will be left idling unless there is problem with digital tv signal.
Put in there as standby only.

I use another pvr app. It has a padding setting, I use 2 minutes, It starts a recording 2 min. early and ends 2 min. late. So 2 tuners are needed to record back to back shows on the same channel. I use VideoReDo to delete the commercials from the OTA recordings.

currently using 4 hauppage 2250's and 4 usb tuners.

It's nice to know npvr doesn't force user to max of 4 tuners like MS's product

NextPVR only needs 1 tuner to do that. The same tuner can be used by more than one recording at the same time. It can even record different logical TV channels carried on the same physical channel (aka Mux) with a single tuner. I have 4 tuners, and have had up to 7 different shows recording at the same time.

In the digital age, multiple TV channels are carried on the same transmission frequency or MUX. NPVR can access all of the channels on a single frequency simultaneously with a single tuner.
