switch to a real database

As I wrote I have to do more testing before posting problems to see if it is power-mgt on my laptop, only wifi, the fact that my recordings are on a NAS share etc causing problems. My client is useless right not because of live tv dieing even during wired playbook so I have it set up in test mode so it is not high priority.

I know, I was just curious to compare logs since there seems to be three different behaviors. You have trouble with the client, he has trouble with the server and I have no trouble at all. One of the first things I do on a windows install is to disable the "Allow windows to turn off power to this device" option in the NIC properties so I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.

I rebooted the server, selected "Recordings" then return at 17:22:02. Attached is the NPVR.log for the Server.

Although I earlier estimated 17 seconds the log says 21 seconds to activate the "Recordings" plugin. Most of the delay is between LoadList@1 and LoadList@2. Later activations of the plugin take 350ms!

Repeating the above after a wake from a sleep of a few minutes the plugin took 700ms to activate.

By comparison after rebooting both the Server and Client and doing the same on the client the "Recordings" plugin takes 2.6 seconds to activate. Selecting "Recordings" any time afterwards the delay is 1.5 seconds. The client log is also enclosed

I have always assumed the delay was "Normal" but don't know if it has always been like that since my last clean install around 14 months ago. I began to think it may not be normal recently when Sub made a comment to someone about reading the database being very quick. Perhaps its time for a clean install but will wait to see if this uncovers anything. However as I have said the server is not used much for viewing recordings so the delay is just an irritation mainly when doing NextPVR admin like deleting pre Unique_ID duplicate recordings.
