Here's Believe, Mad Men wasn't in my XMLTV file:

So it looks like season is zero based Mad Men was only to confirm that episode is 1 based but the 6 here i correct too.

the dd_progid is the TMS/Zap2It ID for the episode (which is just the Series ID prepended with "EP" instead of "SH" and appended with a 4 digit episode number (cumulative for all seasons). Schedules Direct does not include the period in the episode number ("EP017386630006").

I'm not sure if sub uses it or not, but you match it to the "zap2it_id" field from the TVDB for the series by replacing the "EP" with "SH" and removing the episode number (and any period): "SH01738663". I don't think they include the Zap2It ID on the individual episodes though, only the IMDB ID. Episode number could be calculated though by looping through the tvdb seasons and adding up the episodes for that season (only one season in the case of Believe).

Yes iGL uses the zap2it ID when looking up thetvdb matching against all the episode entries. It is not always correct on thetvdb but it usually provides a good match. I also uses the truncated to make sure it gets the right show when there are more than one with the same name.

There are anomalies, If history repeat the next 24 will have a special zap2it for the combined two episode premiere and later one each episode will have other ids. The subtitles in NextPVR will also be combined. If it works iGL will rename it S09E01-02 and because of that XBMC is smart enough to show it as two entries with separate metadata and subtitles.

It would be great if at some point the filenaming could be done before recording. When watching a file that's recording you can't be accessing it when it wants to rename otherwise it doesn't rename.

agree, maybe if NPVR could use filename specified in the scheduled_recordings table if a value is present at the time that the recording starts, or generate its own filename based on timestamp if the value is null.
