The other day I upgraded to version 9108 . After that every show I recorded has alot of snow on it. After I found this out I tried watching live tv and noticed that all channels are now full of snow, I can see the tv pretty good and the audio is fine its just not very good quality. I uninstalled gbpvr and reinstalled a older version that used to work perfectly and it too was showing snow.

At first I assumed I was having a problem with 9108 but since the older version is doing the same thing it must be something on my system. Anyone see this before/have any ideas on a fix?

I don't want to reinstall windows right now, thats kind of a pain but I will do it if I have to

Just to be sure to start, try checking w/ the catv plugged directly into the tv. Snowy? Just coincidence then. Try buying a new house or moving to another city w/ better cable.

Next, try watching in another app like WinTV2k or DScaler. Snowy? Again, coincidence. Try rescanning channels. If that clears it up, get the tuning app from wiki and import the channels, or maybe just rescan in GB. Or, trying buying a new computer. Make sure to burn your existing one, and scattering the ashes in different counties to break a potenial curse.

All that aside, it could be the reg entries for the channel freqencies got messed up somehow, but that would be pretty weird. You can try fix by tuning w/ WinTV2k and importing them or rescanning channels in GB. Or, get a canary, and keep it in a cage near the computer. If it dies, leave the house and sleep in the car from now on.

Most advice here is vaild. The rest is just spicy food getting to me.

What decoder are you using for recording and playback?
(this is assuming you're using a hardware based card).
You can never have enough tuners!
Pentium Quad / 4Gb Dual Channel RAM / XPSP3 / 2 x PVR-500, PVR-250 / GB-PVR
