I've just gotten round to installing 4.0.4 from the latest download link tonight. Right away on playback it just stutters - The video doesn't play smoothly and the audio is constantly cutting in and out.

I was using the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video / Audio decoders so I tried switching to LAV and it was no better. I also went and downloaded the latest LAV decoders and it made no difference.

Even when I went back to legacy it was still a little unreliable so I downloaded the "patches" from the thread "Playback problems resolved" and now back to the Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder I'm playing as good as ever. I tried the LAV Decoders again and even after the patches I found with LAV its a lot slower to resume after a skip than the Microsoft ones - The audio comes back right away but the video stalls for a while before suddenly catching up.

I'm running Windows 10 but I did an in-place upgrade from Windows 7 recently so I'm guessing thats why I've got the MS DTV-DVD decoder as it came with Media Center updates?? I'm picking a clean install of Windows 10 wouldn't include that decoder??

I have always been using LAV for the all the audio decoders other than MPEG2 as it seems to work really well with NZ Freeview Audio which was problematic in the early switch to digital TV here.

Interestingly the first time I launched NPVR after updating it reported that a new version was available - Is the download link right or is there actually a newer build??

Anyway - Overall its back to running smoothly - I've been a long time user and love the product - It works very well in NZ assuming you can get your hands on a good Tuner Card which seems to be getting a little trickier these days.

Let me know if switching back to the new demux and playing and grabbing some logs is going to help you at this point but I'm picking its a work in progress for you anyway?
