Cannot stop service

Hello (again...)

I am trying to apply a patch to NPVR to resolve my other issue regarding loading Vader IPTV. In order to apply the patch I need to stop the NPVR service which my machine is now refusing to do.

The words "sorry David, I can't allow that" spring to mind.

I attach the error message and my logs, not that there should be too much on them as I am doing this on a completely new NPVR build.

Any thoughts?

Was it already stopped? Does it still do that after a reboot?

Yes, unfortunately. I have tried everything under the moon (no sun here at the moment!). I have done a total uninstall (including deleting any remnants in the two directories) and turned the PC off in between reinstalls just in case. The only possible cause that I can think of is that I have changed from my D: drive to my C: drive in between installations.

I also noticed that the little "N" that is in the hidden icons area appears upon initial installation but then disappears once the error message comes.

NextPVR doesn't handle non-standard installs and uninstalls very well. When you tried to clean up did you issues

sc delete "NPVR Recording Service"

If not try that and then run then installer again.

Thanks all. It was a bit messy but I managed to sort it out.
