Installing service

I installed v5 on a different PC I upgraded (CPU). I ran the NPVR server first and got everything set up and working and configured for port 8867. Then I stopped NPVR server and installed the service using the .bat  file. When the service started I noticed that port 8867 no longer worked but 8866 did. When I looked at the config.xml file I saw that the port got changed to the default 8866.

I changed the port back to 8867 in the config file and saved it after stopping the service. Then started the service again and all was well but I was wondering why it got changed?

Did you originally edit config.xml manually, while NextPVR Server was running? If so, it might have later saved it's config, overwriting changes you made.

It's a chicken and egg thing you first need to run NextPVRServer.exe on port 8866 exit and then edit config.xml to 8867. Or edit the master file (not recommended).

Maybe that's what happened.

I deleted then re-installed the service and the port didn't change in the config file this time.
