This sounds very similar to the Kodi problem Martin solved for me recently!

Martin - are you implying my android phone has ffmpeg on it and is responsible for NextPVR stream playback in the web UI? 

Behind the scenes Kodi uses libavcodec, libavformat etc for doing decoding/playback etc. These libraries are part of the ffmpeg project, and the same libraries that get used when you use ffmpeg.

In jcjefferies' case, it's pretty common problem with one channel in the UK to play the NAR audio track instead of the ENG audio track, due to a mistake in the way the broadcaster has ordered the track. Setting the language in Kodi fixed the issue for him, since Kodi then chose the correct track.

(honestly, this is nothing to do with v5)
