Now, the driver name I see on my windows device manager is "Hauppage PVR PCI II (encoder/decoder)" is this what you expect? or should I expect something such as PVR350 or such?

As Sub says, you should see Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II (Encoder/Decoder)

I just installed the drivers from http://www.shspvr.com, but GB-PVR will work with the ones from the CD.

You don't have WinTV2000 running at the same time? check task manager for wintv2k.exe

Can you record in WinTV, and then playback the captured file from WinTV?

I replaced the driver with the latest ones from shspvr.com
This had no effect.

Wintv2000 is not running at the same time GBPVR is running.

I'll keep trying stuff. Reply back if you can think of something

This might not be an option to you, but have you tried a complete, clean reinstall of windows, pvr-drivers and gbpvr? Just to make sure you don't have anything funny on your box... Depending on your situation it could either be just a hassle, or it could be worth a shot :-)

Actually, it is good that you mentioned it. I went through the motions and reinstalled everything last night. What solved the problem was a clean reinstall of gb-pvr. Now I can see it through the TV-out.

Thanks, all of you for your help on this.
