Hi,

I'm trying to use NextTool on Linux to import this recording, and I am getting the "Not Parsed" in the NextTool.txt file with the debug command..

Code:
/home/john/recordings/Best Ever Trivia Show/Best Ever Trivia Show_20220802_10001030.ts Not Parsed

This is the filename that was automatically generated from my recording, even though this is not a supported filename type, but I also see that I can make a forum post to request a format be added.

Is it possible to add this filename type (I think the '10001030' refers to the start and end time in hhmm format)?

The regex will parse that so it seems there is something else going wrong. Does the nextpvr user or video group have read/write access to the file?

If so make sure you are using the current version from the wiki and try this option

--file /home/john/recordings/Best Ever Trivia Show/Best Ever Trivia Show_20220802_10001030.ts

And send the zipped NextTool.log.

Thanks Martin.  I updated NextTool just to be safe, and things seem to be behaving better.  I am also using the --file and --importxml rather than a full dir import for my purposes.

OK, maybe it doesn't work, executing NextTool with --xmlfile does nothing (no info on the imported stream, no errors.  didn't check logs, tho).

however, using --file on the .xml file works.  I do get a "File is already in the database" message because of the 1st attempted import, but the info is all correct.

There is no option xmlfile but that should be on the command line. -file should point to a media file. You probably need to read the options on the wiki where you got the zip file.

Sorry Martin I meant that i used the --importxml option and it didn't work.  I just confirmed that using the --file option on the xml file does indeed import the correct data.

I got NextTool from here.  Below is the info on the dll:

I checked the code and unless the extension is supported video then nothing is processed. If you pass in the original file name it should update the xml though.
