I have 2 HDPVR2's connected to my NextPVR system, and I am wondering if there are any guides or explanation on how to use the ir blaster to change channels? I am VERY familiar with the HDPVR2, however I have NEVER done anything with the ir blaster part of it so I know nothing about it or how it works.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated, newguy2022

The IR blaster stuff supplied by Hauppauge unfortunately only supports a single blaster, so if you need multiple blasters you'd need to use other hardware for this job.

To configure the HDPVR2's blaster you basically configure it using the Hauppauge supplied BlastCFG application. You then configure NextPVR to use HaupBlast.exe as it's blaster.

Thanks for replying, Maybe this is a dumb question but could I have 2 copies of BlastCFG application 1 for each tuner?  If this will not work what other hardware do you mean?

Thanks, newguy2022

There are other IR blasters that you can buy and use. There are other posts on alternatives if you search the forum.

Martin

I been searching this forum for several hours today and I can’t find much of anything about multiple ir blasters.

Can anyone point me to something specific, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, newguy2022

Search blaster and look at the results which is what I would do to find some of my responses on this. You can also try iguana, usb-uirt and lirc to narrow it done. None of these are trivial to implement.

Also don't limit yourself to searching tise forum, since the blaster control is outside of NextPVR.

Unfortunately no. It's a limitation of Hauppauge's IR software.

Ok on this page...
https://winlirc.sourceforge.net/

It says you can use WinLIRC with Hauppauge TV tuners, does this mean I could use WinLIRC to control both ir blaster plugged into the 2 HDPVR2's?

Thanks, newguy2022

The tuners have a receiver, for example to control the NextPVR UI, you need to configure an IR sender to your STB. You might be able to control one HDPVR2

I don't think so. Just looks like it calls the existing Hauppauge IR stuff, which is limited to a single blaster.
