Hi Sub and all,

I have a very specific setup that I would like to use, and want to know if it is feasible.

Let me give some background by saying that I am running a number of WinTV PVR 350s, one per machine using WinTV 2000  very happily.

What I want to do is run 4 WinTV PVR 350s in one machine.

I understand WinTV 2000  can't do this.

Each card will be tuned to a single channel, but may need interactively re-tuned every week or two.

I need to simultaneously record from all cards to DVD compliant MPEG-2 files for about two hours, producing four files of about 4 gigabyte per file.

Additionally I need to have some editing application (possibly VideoReDo) to be able to random access the video file as it is being recorded to create a cut section file for immediate use.

Is this possible with GB-PVR ?

Thanks for any responses.

Cheers,

Luckies.

You can have four PVR350 setup in GB-PVR, and all able to record indepentantly.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to do, but GB-PVR is really setup around choosing programs to record from the TV Guide or scheduling manual recordings. You *may* be able to replicate what you're after by manully scheduling four simultaneous recordings, with GB-PVR setup with four PVR350 capture source (configured to use a constant TV channel).

I cant help you with VideoReDo, but GB-PVR doesn't exclusively lock the files as it records.

Hi Sub,

Thanks for the fast response.

I am due to have a couple of WinTV PVR 350 cards delivered tomorrow to experiment with.

What I want, is to create the four archive files, but if something interesting happens on a channel, I want to be able to create a clip soon after the item of interest happens from the file that is still being recorded. Pretty much compiling a highlights package, but where each highlight is available as a small mpg file just after it happens.

I like the clean simple look to the GB-PVR application (and really dislike WinTV 2000)

Cheers,

Luckies.
