So I have comskip v.64, old school, and it was working just fine up until about a week ago. I have my bat file set up right and it was doing its job, just right. But now, none of my recorded shows have com-skipping points (green sections). So I looked at my log and txt files and found something interesting. The log files include the chapter points at the end of them, but in the recent episodes, comskip outputs commercials that are 30-70% of the shows length :confused: Also, the .txt files are empty (have no numbers below the header)....

I originally had .73 installed but it would crash after each show (Comskip.exe has generated an error-crash. Would you like to submit it to Microsoft?). So I downgraded back to .64 (what I was using before). What follows is the text of my ini file, but I am pretty sure it is/was the default.....

Any ideas?

Suggest to change to

score_percentile=0.71

This could help.

I also am interrested in why comskip version 0.73 crashes.
Could you try with
output_framearray=0
There is an error in the sound processing of 0.73 that causes it to crash.

You could also try version 0.74 (or newer Smile ) that solves that specific crash.

i guess i will try a new version (all the archives are up, so i can always switch back if .74+ crashes.....)

It doesnt make much sense that the .ini file is the problem, does it? Because if it were then why the sudden change. On the other hand, given the output of 45 minute commercials, it seems comskip is working, just not detecting well.

Where can I get an updated ini which is not euro specific? I am in the states.....

Thanks Erik.

If you want to use version 0.64 I strongly suggest to delete your current ini file and get it new from the archive.

A reason for the sudden change is possible a change in the transmission.
The logo behaviour can be different, the amount of black frames can be different, many things possibly.

I do have a tester in the USA now so I hope the new versions of comskip will soon be no longer europe centric. Smile

thanks erik - where can I get a better ini file? I thought i remember the latest versions of comskip coming with a note saying "be sure to replace this ini file with your own."

Am I mistaken?

Thanks for the help.
