I've just setup a machine with GBPVR and I'm using the MCE remote control from Microsoft. However, I can't see how I'm able to control the volume in GBPVR using the volume keys on the remote. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm also unable to get the remote to have any effect when playing a DVD. Have I missed something important, or is this usual behaviour of the software?

I don't have the MCE remote, or MCE for that matter. I use the PVR 150 and the Hauppauge remote that came with it, but I have the same problem when I watch a DVD through GBPVR, the remote stops responding. I really haven't had enough time to troubleshoot it myself though, so I wasn't going to ask until I messed around with it or someone else had the same problem Cool

The problem with DVD playback may relate to your choice of DVD Navigator in the config app. I recommend you stick with the default 'DVD Navigator'

Can yuo give a brief run down on how you got your MCE to work. I use HIP as the interface for the IR blaster. I get teh basic controls of the remote to work. i.e up, down enter and even volume up and down. I was able to assign keys to the various buttons on the remote i.e live Tv etc and guide but since moving to GBr 94.12 I've not been able to get these features to work.

An insight into your set-up would be greatly apprciated, along with enyone elses. plus any HIP config's you've created.

Cheers

Why are you using HIP for this. If you set GB-PVR's config for MCE remote, then it should work without the need for any other config.

My main production machine uses an MCE remote, and I dont need to run any other third party software to achieve this.

I'm not sure if your MCE remote is exactly the same as mine, but if it is, the My Videos, My Music buttons are shared with the coloured buttons (red/green/yellow/blue). GB-PVR was originally designed for remote that had separate buttons for these shortcut buttons and the coloured buttons. As a result I needed to choose one or the other, and I chose to treat these as the coloured buttons since these are more important in GB-PVR.

This is tied to the same fault I'm having when using the Cyberlink remote with gbpvr configured to "MCE remote".

The Cyberlink remote appears to use the same Windows controls as the genuine MCE remote for the volume control. When gbpvr is not running then the remote volume buttons control the Windows master volume by default. However when gbpvr is running, then gbpvr overwrites the volume button mapping to adjust some unknown volume control, that only works for LiveTV and Videos only. DVD and FM Radio volume does not work.
