I had a hauppauge card that did this, I don't remember if it was my pvr-250 or an old wintv card, but it was fixed with a driver/software upgrade. The new software made it so that the volume was turned down to 0 on a channel change (I could literally watch the volume slider drop to zero on channel change and then go right back to where it was.) I am pretty sure this was on my old wintv card where the audio was run to the soundcard through a 4-pin cable, whereas the PVR runs through the PCI bus. It's probably not GBPVR but rather your particular hardware or drivers. Note that all of this was occuring through the hauppauge tv software, it was before I knew about GBPVR. But it was just as you described and man was it annoying and had me worried about my speakers.
Hope any of this is a help. It's probably not GBPVR but rather your particular hardware or drivers

I had this happen last night, by my own doing. I tried to crank up Normalize in ffdshow to 700%, and I got pops.
This isn't a direct solution, but the message to take away is that it can happen if you have some audio processing set too high. There was also some issue w/ Via chipsets, I thought. SB cards have been plauged w/ issues like this over the years. |
