Thanks,

I bet it was just coincidence.
I very much doubt that EPGExtra has anything to do with the problem because it changes the guide after the EPG update, not before.

I am having the same problems. I do not suspect Zap2it since it did not do it until the auto EPG update. I ran multiple manual updates and the channel lineup was just fine.

I downloaded the updated dll file and will give that a try.

If anyone wants to PM me a link to the 96.12 version of GB-PVR I would be more than happy to provide a public download from my webserver.

Let me know, and I will let everyone know if the problem happens again.

Thanks!

No, you cannot do this. I do not want anyone to make old versions publically available.

OK! Just figured since the previous version seemed to be working for people, that they could use this until the problem is found and fixed.

If someone does have a version I would love it if they would PM me so I could use somethinga tad more stable than the current one. I would like to autoupdate the EGP but do not need tons of channels screwingup my tv guide.

If nobody has an older version I will either manually update the EGP or move to a different program for the time being.

I do like this program though!

Is any one with this problem using the SQLite database? I guessing you're still using Access.

I'm starting to suspect this is related to the asynchronous database commit to disk thing that happens with Access. I suspect the change to .net 2.0 has triggered a slight change in performance in the execution of this code, and its sometimes trying to load the channel list before some recently performed show deletions have been flushed to disk. It seems more likely to occur for users with large numbers of channels, which is why its mainly US users noticing the problem. It also tallys up with the strange "System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Record is deleted" message that is in the logs when this occurs when trying to load the list of existing channels, and their associated show listings.

Is SQLite a better option than Access?

Will give the patch a try and let you know how it goes.

I am using Access still. So are you saying that the above patch and the patch previously in this thread would not be necessary if the Access users switched to SQLite ? If SQLite is the answer I would rather switch than patch.

Thanks,

Kyle

Yes, thats what I'm thinking. (though I'd probably install that last patch anyway - it improves something else with SQLite)

Well got the RecordingService update and set it up to do an auto EGP update. I am assumin it did it and there was no problems with the channels. I have it set to update again tomorrow at noon so we will see what happens.

So far so good!

Thanks for the quick patch and great job!
