Thank you for your help. Part of what was causing me to chase my tail (aside from where I am on the learning curve) was that there was no config/scripts directory. I found a clue from a post of Martin's on another topic:

"If you used the deb install the file would be
/var/opt/nextpvr/scripts/PostProcessing.sh (or ParallelProcessing.sh)"

Sure enough, creating UpdateEPG.sh, putting it in the above directory and giving it -x permissions got the job done.

Martin, I appreciate your advice to search and I promise to give you a few days rest before I start my next NextPVR project!

I guess whoever wrote "config" was coming from Docker not linux however you did find scripts to install Pluto so it didn't seem that hard to me. Glad you sorted it out.

I have updated wiki (link in post #1) to handle changes to the streamlink plugin for PlutoTV live TV and VOD. Thanks to user bouilliabai for pointing this out.

This change will identify which version of streamlink you run when you install. If you to upgrade to 6.7 or higher you can reinstall or use the switch
python pluto.py extra and then delete all the channels with the trashcan icon when you open the devive and rescan. VOD will also need to be re-scanned.
