I get smooth play in Media Player and in AverMedia. I know you said Aver used Overlay.

I have EVGA Nvidia GeForce 7600GT card, P4 3GHz. The card is in an X16 slot.

Problem with -fse is when things hang, for whatever reason, you are left with no way to bail out (cntl-alt-delete no longer accessible). Perhaps if you made a way to bail if things hang?

Yes, doing 1080i.

I tried Nvidia trial version, no luck. Still choppy, plus reduced quality. I used default settings all around, did not try to change settings.
Display=Content default
Hardware acceleration
Smart deinterlace control
Prefer VMR9
Deinterlace mode "Best Available"

So, I am pretty certain the issue is not the MPEG decoder.

Verified that the 9.0b quartz is installed

Thanks
Chuck

I have awful live TV stuttering with my M780 as well (only analog as I don't have a need for the digital QAM yet). I just don't use it for LiveTV and I use my PVR150 (by having the M780 on the top of the capture source listings and the PVR150 listed second).

I have tried a few different decoders and I still have the same problem. If I record with the M780, the recordings are fine with no stuttering. I believe the problem is with the M780 drivers and how the act with the decoders, as the card works fine in the Avermedia software.

I wish I just went with one of the Hauppauge QAM cards instead...

The only real complaint I have with the analog quality of the M780 is with ghosting/motion compensation in dark scenes. I don't really get any stuttering. I do get an occasional audio issue, but I get those with other cards using VMR9.

I did notice you are using the smart deinterlacing. This will take up more resources. The stuttering should be better if deinterlacing is set to auto.

[Fusion HDTV5 RT Express (QAM)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=2
FILTER_TUNER=FusionHDTV, BDA Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=FusionHDTV, Transport Stream Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I've been attempting to get my Dvico FusionHD 5 Gold card working, and i tried the above with no success. Is this only for the Express version? what would i need to do to get it working with a different version?

Yeah I only tried with the PCI-e version. I know there are some differences in the cards, (audio being one of them.) Use graphedit to check the filter names. You may be able to get it to work.

il1019, you can also run filtercheck.exe located in your gbpvr folder and post the filtercheck.log that is created. This will tell us the correct filter names.

well you rock sub. it's working great, thanks. Will this be included into later versions of GB? if not, why? just curious, that's all.
