i have fixed the error. you can download the new version from the wiki. don't know, why those files were missing....

if you want to do it yourself, you will have to adjust the height of the channels or the width of the guide. there is no way to edit the way the icons are displayed separately

I'm still at a complete loss here ... :confused:
I fiddled around with skin.xml in /tv guide, but to no avail. The guide's width is easily changed via guideWidth="xxx", sadly I observed no effect on the channel icons - they're still squarish. I can't seem to find a parameter that would shift away the guide from the icons.
Attached my base.xml in case I overlooked something terribly obvious.

madcow, could you post your logs? and set the logging level to debug. I might be able to tell you something from that.

try changing the channel row height.
also look at the red version. or tell me if you have looked at the red version, because i made a definite effort to fix that issue when I edited the skin.

I have not had time to play with my HTPC recently, but I will update the youtube skin to include the glossy/flat versions soon, when I finish my homework. I dont think there are any other things i need to pull over from the original version. I need to work on the OSD as well, make it smaller, so only necessary information is displayed.

I should have mentioned this earlier, I'm using the red version - sorry if I didn't state this more clearly earlier on.

When changing channelRowHeight="62" to a smaller value, eg 48, I can indeed get the correct aspect ratio. Only drawback is that the EPG info gets too small to be readable for my old eyes...:p

The channel icons are 82x62 .pngs, as far as I understand now, there's a way to change their height (via channelRowHeight="xy") but not their width ?!
Where would I look for the offset at witch the EPG-info is displayed ?

the icons weren't in the correct aspect ratio by default? I thought I fixed that.
unless you have changed anything else go back to the version you downloaded from the wiki, then we can make some changes from there. does the guide look ok in the blue version of sassari?

You cannot change the width of the ChannelIcon area in the TV Guide. It is hardcoded. You can play around with the height as you have found, but that is about it.

Thinking about it - I think the problem can be circumvented by utilizing square channel icons. I'll try it out and keep you posted.

sure, I'll give it a try.
Attached you'll find three screenshots.
First one ist BlueMCE2, notice the channel icons being displayed nicely - all the other stuff looking rather poor.
Second is Sassari Red, original version. Channel icons do have the correct aspect ratio, but EPG is barely readable from like 3 meters away.
Third is my attempt of tweaking Sassari Red a bit, notice the width of the channel icons remainig fixed whereas height did change.

I understand having like ten lines of EPG is fine when sitting right front of the screen but in my living room thinks were a bit difficult to read.

Btw, did I mention that besides the little icon issue this skin looks just great ?
Feel free to ask in case something still is a little unclear.
