Thanks.

HQ is set and the box for HD is ticked in Config. I'll do a download without transcoding and see the resolution, which will confirm if it is downloading. If it isn't working I'll send through the logs (or at least confirm that it is the transcode only).

Thankfully, my ISP are pretty good about downloads so should be able to test that aspect for you.

Just to let you guys know I have updated the wiki with hopefully slightly clearer instructions on installation.

I have also added a new version of the plugin that should fix quite a few bugs that were identified, it also contains further debugging to allow for the debug of the more complex problems.

I would suggest and upgrade if you are having issues.Wink

Right, I've spent a bit of time with this problem, the difference is within the encoding, the 5 files are encoded with Audio MPEG 1 - Layer 3 audio, where as the other machines in my house (laptop and liteon Player) only support Mpeg 1 - Layer 2.

I've fixed the 5 files by Converting them into AVI's and all is well....

Which means, can I get support for AVI as the target output rather than MPEG ?

Hi Smiler,

I've noticed that Deadly 60 Episode 8 will not download. it tries three times and then reports I might not have enough bandwidth. (I'm ok on this as I'm on a unmetered 8Mb connection)

Here' the section of my log from this morning....

showDetails - Naturalist Steve Backshall's quest to meet 60 of the deadliest animals on the planet takes him to India. He is on the trail of the saw-scaled viper, said to be the deadliest snake on earth and responsible for 50,000 human deaths each year. It might seem that putting it on the Deadly 60 list is a formality - but in a country famous for enormous snakes, Steve discovers that it has a few contenders. The sloth bear seems an unlikely candidate for the Deadly 60 until it becomes clear that it has razor sharp claws and an incredibly powerful jaw, attributes that do not go unnoticed by Steve as he gets a little too close to one of them. Steve puts his martial arts skills to good use as he tries praying mantis kung fu in an attempt to get to grips with an insect with one of the fastest strikes around.

At the moment only Mpeg is supported and that is really only so it can be used on an MVP. I guess I could allow other formats, however it would not be a simple fix. I suggest that you download without transcodding and perform an action after you have finished the download to transcode to whatever you need.

Couple of things:

Unfortunatly the actual physical connection and being unmetered does not mean that the ISP will not BW throttle the Iplayer WebsiteSad. There is a bit of an arguement going on at the moment between BBC and the larger ISP's over who should pay. Howver the BW throttling will normally only happen at peak usage times.

I noticed that you are using Medium Quality, it is possible that this program is not available in medium flash mode you may want to try High Quality and see if you get the programme. You also may want to download the latest version of the plugin with the enhanced debug to try to tell what is going on. If it is still an issue please attach your logs and I'll take a look.

Hi,
I have just installed this for the first time - following instructions from the wiki.
However - the MVP interface returns no results for searches - giving the following error over and over in the logs (270Mb worth!)

This is pretty strange, can you zip up the other log files and attach them, it will probably be worth truncating that log file to where te error keeps occuring casusing the log file to get big.

What seems to be very strange is that the config information was not sent from the main application to the service, this means that the statemachine that runs the download could not be initialised . I'll Take a look further when I have the full logs.

heres the logs from around the time.
The file that the above came from contains only those lines - so I've not included it....
