Yes, but that obviously wont give us any additional info until after the next release.

Its possible that behind the scenes the system default video decoder for that type of AVI file plays a role in determining an AVI file's fps. I'm getting commercial break points shown in the file I tested:

I was thinking a debug build based on the regular 0.95.16 code, with just an additional log.
Is there anyway I can see myself what this library would return as the FPS value?

I'll see if I can think of anything else that could cause the bug, but I'm out of ideas for now.

I'm not really in a good position to make a modified v0.95 release any more. My code has moved on too far for this to be easily possible.

OK, no prob. Let me know if I can be of any help. If you want to download the 300Megs of files and try on your latest build PM me and I'll post them somewhere you can download them via HTTP.

EDIT: tested the file with AVICodec and it returns 29.970fps. Not sure if it's calling the same library though.

Could also be a xvid codec bug. I'll try on a DivX when I get a chance to

If you can manufacture a small recording file (10-20MB), and manually create the a comskip-like txt file to go with it, and confirm you have the problem, then post them somewhere, I'll try them here.

I have already added the fps debug messages for the next build.

I just tried an xvid file and IMediaDet return 0 fps, so I guess thats the cause of the problem. It works with the divx files I've got. I'll try and find an alternative method that works for xvid for the next release.

I think the answer is no, but just to be sure, you don't need the 10-20Mb xvid file now, do you? Just wondering if I should finish it up, or if it was ok that I stop working on it

Quick update Sub... yesterday I put in the FFMpeg version that Humperdinck compiled, and used his command line.
And I guess it changes something in the XviD stream, since I get my comskip files working again...
Will run more tests to try to pinpoint if it's a fluke or if there was something wrong in FFMpeg before...

When i was converting to XVID earlier in .95.16 ( i gave up on it for now ) comskip breaks wouldn't work unless i started watching the program (no breaks present) exited out and then resumed. Magically the breaks would re-appear. I didn't need to rename the files.
