Hi,

just wanted to share with you that I seem to have the same problem with an HVR-1300. Previously, when working with version 96.12 I had many recordings with no sound. the problem seemed to appear randomly since there were occasions when I did have sound.

The same problem appeared when watching live-tv; sometimes there was no sound. When this problem appeared, I had to restart my pc and everything was fine again. After uninstalling/reinstalling the hauppauge drivers and gbvr several times, even posting a message to an older thread on this forum, I kind of gave up; decided to wait for the next version of GBPVR.

now, having the 97.07 version installed, I can't watch tv at all, the system just hangs. when I stop the gbpvr service, I can use the hauppauge wintv application ok. I already uninstalled gbpvr, removed the directery and reinstalled it, but it doesn't help.

My guess is that this HVR-1300 is crap; or at least the drivers that come along. I'm very sorry that I didn't go for the pvr150 or 500 since I'm not using the digital tuner anyhow.

If you like me to run some tests, just tell me what to do.

bye
Jurgen

I don't know if this is any help to anyone, but the analogue part of my HVR1300 is setup in GBPVR as 'Hauppauge HVR1300 (analogue)' rather than Rosalin or anything. I don't have twin tuners, so I can't comment on most of your problems, but I certainly have no issues with sound loss etc.
BTW if I check the 'show only devices detected box', GBPVR doesn't recognise the analogue part either - so I just left it unchecked

each to their own, but mine has been 'plug and play' all the way - very happy with it!! Smile

thanks for your feedback fuzzweed.
have changed gbpvr to work with the hvr-1300 (analog) driver, but unfortunately it still behaves the same.

I will keep on trying with installing/uninstalling hauppauge drivers. I just wished there were some ways to find a clue why it is hanging.

bye

It turns out that the HVR1300 analogue side is having a few problems with GBPVR (sorry, I hadn't really noticed how much when I first replied, because I mostly watch DVB-T). Have a look at this thread "HVR1300 problem with v0.97.7" too.
