I don't see anything in the log showing a file being deleted. You might want to delete your ArchiveDB-MVP.log since it is getting pretty big and showing lots of old information. do you run multiple MVPs by the way? From your log it looks like you are. That shouldn't cause any problems, but I just wanted to be sure to make sure I am interpreting things correctly.

In the mean time, attached is a test version of the plug-in that incldues some more debugging messages to help me figure out what is going on. it also includes some bug fixes.

I have tried this on my setup and it seems to respond correctly to file deletions. Can you try it again and let me know what you see?

Yes you're correct, I do run multiple MVP's, Generally 2 of them, although when the grandkids visit for the weekend it's more. Smile I'll delete the old logs so you don't have to weed through a much junk.

As soon as my wife's soaps are finished recording at 3pm I'll drop it in and try it. Thanks for you efforts, The WAF wouldn't be nearly as high without them!

Jeff:

Here are the logs using the updated version you sent. I don't see a difference I'm afraid. It's possible it has more to do with my system acting a little flaky since the upgrade than it does with VA. I'm getting ready to wipe the drive and do a complete re-install of everything including the OS, it's overdue anyway. Too many things happening right now that i can't account for so it's time. At any rate I did a manual recording of a show called 'yes dear', watched about a minute of it and deleted it. that was 30 minutes ago and right now it's still showing as being there and able to be watched. The VA panel also still takes about 15 minutes to show a recording has started or ended. no idea why that is, it used to be almost instant. One or both could just be due to my system weirdness but here are the logs anyway,

Thanks.

We should probably move this thread to the plug-in support area since we've gone more into support than an announcement. That said, let me take one more look at my code. Are you deleting a manual recording? I don't make manual recordings so I have not tested this area in a long time. I may well have broken it.

This time yes it was a manual recording, however it was the only one i've done and it was just a test that i did so i'd have something to delete. All other recordings were scheduled recordings. They all behaved exactly the same way. The recording deleted, it just didn't show it as deleted, even after several hours it was still in the 'what's new' section.

I'm going to rebuild this weekend and see if that improves things and i'll post in the plug-in support section how it goes after that. Wish me luck Smile

I have posted an update to the video archive plug-in at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/VideoArchive. It has the following changes:

* fixed a bug in the commongbpvrutilities library that would cause it to not copy over the comskip files after archiving the file and to not properly update the GBPVR database to point to the new file location.

* it is now optional if the plug-in will update the GBPVR database after archiving a file. By default the plug-in will do so. To turn this off, uncheck the check box on the first tab in the plug-in configuration.

* fixed a bug that would cause the plug-in to not list the video files already in a newly added directory until F11 (GO) was pressed.

The login skin is new. I also found some bugs in my blue slin example that I fixed, but I don;t recall what they were. I also added the option for @genre as a text string in the detailed information display.

@Jeff - Will the new recordings exporter still work if I don't actually move any files to an archive folder? I haven't found a need to archive my recordings ever since I upgraded my storage drive but I still use the Videos interface extensively. I mainly want to use this new feature as a backup utility prior to upgrading to 97.

Yes. It just exports whatever is in the video archive database, however it only exprts recordings (not DVDs) so it may not help you. I could easily do a second utility to export the contents of the DVD directories if that is what you are looking for.

Actually, I was refering to the recordings created by GBPVR. I don't archive my DVDs.

I'm happy to see this is finally available. Now I can reformat my system drive and restore the recordings located on my array without worry. Thanks Jeff!
