Try selecting the 'universal' list of channel and see of that helps - otherwise go to http://www.blazevideo.com and see if they can help.

I've had no luck find a newer driver, but I did locate the manufactuer of the hardware - the AF9005 chip. They have an older, WHQL certified driver which I've not tested yet : http://www.afatech.com.tw/service/AFAdri...3.WHQL.zip.

I did email them asking for an updated driver, but no response yet.

I've tried the following :
 • Re-registering PsiParser.ax
 • Changing <BDAScanType> in config.xml from 1 to 2
 • Changing <BDAUsePsiParser> from true to false

Going back to the supplied BlazeDTV s/w I noticed that it has a retry option when scanning, which defaults to 10, setting it to 1 significantly improves the scan time, but reduces the number of channels found from 72 to 8.

So I wondering if this h/w is a bit sluggish and needs some sort of extra delay before detecting the signal ?

I got the same EASY-TV device AF9005 bda and am having similar tuning problems.
Even using the same ariel which I connect to my other DVB-T set top box which locates every channel, It identified 60 odd channels but only finds the channels names for some of the BBC channels, I'm on winter hill.
Has anybody got this device to tune properly using preferably blazevideo or GB-PVR?

I can get it to work ok with the BlazeDTV 2.0 supplied s/w but it does not always recognise the channels and shows them as 'unknown'. Try increasing the retries in the advanced scan page. I tried it 50 (default is 10) on mine and it took a very long time, and found 73 channels but did not appear to ID any more channels!

I get pretty much the same results as SWK and Matlock, lots of channels using Blaze, and only the BBC ones identified. That's using a link to mymain aerial, which recieves freeview well on the main television and another FW box. Off to get a better portable indoor aerial from Argos this pm.

Using GBPVR, I can't get a single channel (BTW great help here getting the bda.ini file correct - struggled for a bit with that.)

I'm using the AF9005 WHQL 6.3.2.1 driver - which is what came on the disk with the stick and the Blaze software. I can't find any others.

Bit stuck now

Well, this isn't really about gbpvr, but the Blaze software suppied with the USB-TV stick. I worked out how to get the channel name into the epg. After a scan, you can edit DVB-t.gsl and add a description.name line to the file for the channel

e.g. Description.Name=Channel 4

If you look at the properties in the EPG (right click on the icon) the you can check the description ID before you add the text.

After some searching of the forum, I tried the following changes to config.xml :
<BDAUsePsiParser>false</BDAUsePsiParser>
<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>6</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
<BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>15</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>
But no luck. I also tried higher numbers without any success - it even blue screen'ed again on one occasion.

I've had no response to my email to info@afatech.com.tw, so I've found a few more email addresses by search for "@afatech.com.tw" in Google :

gary_lin@afatech.com.tw
anita_liu@afatech.com.tw
kevin_tian@afatech.com.tw

If you are also having problems with your AF9005, then please also email these people for an upgraded driver.

Thanks, Sean

I got a response from Afatech to my second message.

They suggested installing the certified driver from http://www.afatech.com.tw/service/AFAdri...3.WHQL.zip to fix the -166kHz Blue Screen, and it worked!
 • Rescanned in BlazeDTV and it detected the same channels, but failed to identify about half of them.
 • ScanChannelsBDA_EZ166.exe now runs without Blue Screening, but still does not find any channels.
 • ScanChannelsBDA_EZ.exe found one channel! (BBC NEWS 24)
 • GB-PVR also detected just one channel.
BBC NEWS 24 just happened to be the last channel I viewed in BlazeDTV, so I re-ran the channel scan and this time found nothing - no idea whats going on.

Note : I manually uninstalled the AF9005 driver from Device Manager, then deleted C:\WINDOWS\system32\AF05BDAEX.dll and C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\AF05BDA.sys, and then installed the certified driver using setup.exe included in the zip file.
