OK, I've updated the wiki. Maybe you guys should check that too.

is there a way to refine the search paramters? the theater i go to doesn't seem to be showing up, so i was wondering if there was a way to change the distance the search encompasses?

Not currently. Old Dog and myself have been working on doing some overhauling to this plugin to add some more functionality to it. As far as distance options, Fandango doesn't appear to offer that option anyways. Sorry.

what about multiple zip codes??

could he theoretically use his home zip and the zip of the theater he likes??
or could I use my home zip and the zip of a friends house to cover the theaters I use??

Agidius,

Yes you can. Create a file named 'ziplist.txt' in the root gbpvr folder, and in that file put one zip code per line, save it, and then change the getlistings.bat file to read:

GetTheaterListings file

Instead of putting a zip code as an argument to the program, use the keyword 'file'. This instructs the program to read the zipcodes from the ziplist.txt.

Hope this helps.

I've NEVER had the refresh listing button work. (I have the orginal plugin)

Based on this thread, I've got it to work. The .bat file was titled "1getlistings.bat"

The Version on the Wiki has this BAT file.

Guess what, It needs to be titled (Per post #4) "getlisting.bat"

Just wanted you guys to know the .bat file is still wrong on the 97andup.zip file.

(And thanks for showing me why it's was broken)

Quick question.

My closet Theatre isn't showing. (But it's the #2 Theatre on Fandango, someone mentioned that is the source for the info)

UPDATE:

Kindof answered my own question.

Based on this Thread
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=7560

If you open up

gbpvr/theatre/theatres.xml, this shows you the file it's using to store the info.

My theatre was listed, with no showtimes.

Back to the Fandango site, I see that none of the Movie times are purchasable (if that's a word) online. But the times are listed. Hence the discrepiancy.

I know someone mentioned that They're rewriting this plugin, and looking for a new source.

Zap2it, provider of the TV EPG, now does movies.......
http://movies.zap2it.com/movies/browse/m...--,00.html

(Some URL Reading 0 is starttime, 1259 is endtime, 02324 is zip -20 is radius, I think the -- is future, and 00.html is the script.

(So doens't IMDB, but they get it from zap2it)
http://www.imdb.com/showtimes/location/02324 (02324 is my zipcode)

Brian_W (with some help from Old Dog) is in the process of reworking this plugin.

The batch file is being dropped in favor of adding it to the Config utility. There is also work being done as to how it gets the data.

Brian_W Wrote:I am actually working on rewriting the part of the program that gets the movie and theater listings so that it not only works in the US but other countries, and also uses a different site for the US. Fandango can be a bit sketchy at times and anytime they make a small minor change, the program breaks. Unfortunately my spare time isnt very plentiful as I am very busy at work and also just got married so the wife gets upset when I spend more time on the computer than with her, but I am picking away at it whenever I get a chance.
