sorry Sub, but I did some testing and it seems like: when comskip files are there then manual ad-skipping (by ctrl-p or play-button) will work regardless the setting of autoskipping in config or the 999-trick. In a way this makes sense: You "can't" use manual ad-skipping when autoskip is on because it will have skipped the ad before you can manual skip itSmile .
So you have to turn off autoskipping to be able to use the manual skipping.

I completely agree with you!
It seems the behaviour is reverted with the respect the normal use.
If I well understood the behaviour should be:

Auto commercials skip enabled - solid green bar shown (who cares of dark green skips?)

Auto commercial skip disabled - green bar with dark green skip areas sown and play-button enabled for manual ad-skipping

When auto-skipping is turned on you do see the dark green skip areas.

Was this intended? I don't use auto-skip but like the commercial indication.

I think this gives you an idea of the ads to expect in a swow

It might be nice to aways have the green bar showing the ads, if comskip files are available.

Seconded - I confirmed ads are not represented on my MVP with auto-skip off. If you press 999 to toggle on auto-skip with the OSD on they magically appear.

If I read this right, thirded.

i.e. If comskip files exist, I would like the green bar to show the darker ad bits as it shows (to me) that comskip has done its job properly.

I can generally tell by the regularity of placement of the dark bits and by their length, that comskip worked. If they are unevenly placed or some much shorter than others, I need to tune my comskip.ini.

If comskip files do not exist I would like the green bar to simply be a solid green bar.
I also reckon it would be good for some other OSD text (like the one for "subtitles enabled" to show up when you toggle 999, regardless of whether comskip files exist or not.

p.s. One day I'm going to have channel "999" ... what happens then Big Grin

I'm currently using the presence of the markings to give the user some visual indication that auto skip is enabled/disabled.

It sounds like many of you would like to still see these markings even of auto skip is disabled. I'll change it so that the markings are always shown, but change marking colour based on whether auto skip is enabled or disabled.

Sounds like a good idea....once I knew how it worked I was ok with it....but the alternate color is even a better idea.

I'll post a patch for this. These will be skinnable, but what default colours would you like me to use? ie, darkgreen when enabled, what colour for disabled? I tried a few and they all looked crap. Black looked best, but it could be a bit difficult to see the difference between darkgreen/black on some TVs.
