I think you may be on to something csy...
I have a question though. I'm using this PC not only as a PVR, but also for normal desktop computing, and I have a flat screen computer display on it as well as the TV for video playback.

I can choose between "CLONE" display mode, displaying the same thing on the monitor as well as the TV, or "Dualview" display mode.
I've tried both and had trouble with both. Is there a preference? I believe that when it is set to "CLONE", I may not be able to choose a seperate resolution for the TV. But setting it to Dualview seems to make things a bit weird too.

I suppose if I have to set my TV as my primary display, then I don't want to put a check in GBPVR next to "Start on second monitor". Any further suggestions will really help!

Clone and Dualview perform two different types of display modes (duplication vs. extending), and this is really personal preference.

I personally don't think your video card is powerfull enough for what you are trying to achieve, which is why I suggested trying a reduced resolution to prove the point (I expect the video to work ok at a lower resolution).

To achieve a good desktop resolution of say 1024x768 and also have good video playback, you really need a minimum of Nvidia 6600GT or ATI 9600XT.

Well, I'm not opposed to using "Clone" if I have to...but would I be locked into one single resolution at that point? I tried setting the tv resolution lower and still saw the choppiness in the video playback.

I don't need to be able to use the PC while using GBPVR on the tv, but I want to be able to do either-or.

I've recently bought this video card, so exchanging it is still an option if absolutely necessary. The PC is said to require AGP 4x though, so keep that in mind.

Right now when I start GBPVR, it is starting on the TV, and the PC monitor still displays the normal desktop. Then when I start LiveTV on the TV, the PC Monitor goes to "Input Not Supported" which I find strange...if this provides any hints.

I KNOW I can get this working nicely and thanks again for the pointers!
