Hi - I'm new to the Forums, so forgive any stupid questions/comments.

GBPVR was running fine (our son set it all up, he has now moved on...) until I lost Internet connectivity for that machine for about 6 weeks. Got the connectivity back, but no program listings. Tried doing an EPG update from GBPVR config. Search programs is empty; TV Guide shows programs from current time for 1.5 hrs, only for channels on the page.... the scrolling functions for time and additional channels do not respond.

I tried creating new registration at Zap2It, redoing EPG update; even rebooted machine (ahh.... we Windows users...), all to no avail. When I click on the EPG update (15 days) it says "Requesting Info from Zap2It..." and then "Processing info .... this make take several minutes" finally closes, but the program listings (for searching) reamin empty.

Any ideas, keeping in mind I am only moderately tech-enabled?

Many thanks!

Can you click the 'Update EPG' button in the capture source settings, the zip and attach the c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\config.exe.log file?

Sub,

Was gonna send you log file, but following happened:

In what I thought would be another futile effort, I clicked on Search and again got the empty search page with the alphabet down the left side. But I inadvertently clicked again on a letter, an all of the programs have appeared in the right pane. This proves to be a consistent behavior.

Perhaps this was always the behavior, but my recollection (before we lost our Internet connection) was that the program list would show in the right pane as you scrolled down the alphabet, and that when you clicked on the letter you could then scroll the listing.

Anyway, seems to be working now. Thanks for your quick response and willingness to help!

Ok well here is what I have done now, as per Jims last post I removed some of my channels that I do not watch, I removed all the digital music and radio stations, this has reduced my guide by over 50 channels. As soon as I did that I re-installed GB and updated the epg from the config utility. It actually updated great, I put in all my reoccurring shows, all worked great. I then noticed that it was recording the wrong show, the guide was an hour behind, so I changed my system time back an hour and it records fine, but there is no data displaying in the guide, yet its still records all my shows, just no info at all in the guide. Any ideas about this??

Its not clear to me whether you have listings or not? You comments here seem to contradict one another.

It sounds like the timezone settings were wrong on your PC if the listings where out by an hour, or something related to the daylight savings settings.

Sorry Sub let me try and explain this better; I have been using GB for over 8-9 months now, love the program and everything has been working great since then. One morning I woke up and had no guide data at all, I then reloaded my epg data in the config utility. Everything was fine, the next morning the same thing happened every morning for the next week. Then one morning when I tried to reload the guide it would only load till the current time, so if it was 9:00am it would load everything previous to 9:00am but nothing after, I reinstalled GB, I installed on a different drive, still the same thing. I hooked up my computer directly to the cable modem and disabled any firewalls, I even opened up a new acct at zapit with no success. I then took another idea that Jim had, and reduced my channel line up from over 400 channels to about 325 channels, as soon as I did this my guide loaded fine, I was able to add all my recordings and the only thing wrong with it now, was that it was recording the wrong show, for example the guide would say family guy, but would record a different show. I changed my system clock to compensate for this and now it works fine. The only issue im having now is, since I changed my system time the epg is empty again, yet it still records all my reoccurring shows. Even if I change back my system time I still can’t refresh or reload any epg data. I was just wondering if there was anything I could try. I have attached a screen shot of what im talking about,

You could try setting <SaveZap2itXML>true</SaveZap2itXML> in config.xml, then do an epg update. After this, c:\zap2it.xml will contain the data set by zap2it. You can look at this to see if zap2it is sending you all the info, or if they are short changing you.

I have tried this and everything seems to be there, the total file size is 3.2mb
I have attached this file incase I missed something. The funny thing is that it must be downloading the guide because all my shows are still recording, and I can still search for shows to record. I believe the epg is loaded just not being displayed for some reason.

There is no listing in that file newer than today, so zap2it is returning you very much data.

You should try switching back to the blue skin in case though, because in that screenshot the skin you're using is missing files, which might contribute to why you're no even seeing todays listings.

Sub,

I have changed to skin back to blue and refreshed the guide and still no go, I just can’t understand what's causing it. I guess ill just deal with it, I mean it still records shows and everything, ill just have to live with out the guide.

Thank you for all your help sub

ps. attached a screenshot of the blue skin with the same issue, also if you ever want to look into it more, I can always give you access to Vnc so you can poke around, but I do not expect this at all, once again thank you for everything.
