Ok, that is the sort of bad reception I was picturing. I just wanted to make sure your "fuzzy" didnt just mean a soft picture or something different that what I was thinking.
I'm not really sure. As I said, there were some drivers in the past that would cause this, but that was resolved by updating the drivers, which you've tried unsuccessfully. Have you run any other TV software on that machine? I'm wondering if something has tweak the Microsoft frequecny override registry settings. Which country are you in?

I am in the usa this machine is soley for an HTPC I have been running Wintv2000 and that is all that has ever been installed on this machine since it was fresh. Aside from maybe some codec packs if that matters. Should I uninstall wintv2000 and reinstall GBPVR?

Sorry, I'm not really sure. It looks like the drivers doing something funny to me. It'll be interesting to hear if the Tuning Assistant shows the same thing.

I noticed in the registry that under my TV system services. I have a ts0-0. Shouldnt that entry be a ts0-1 because i am using cable? Also cant I enter the freq directly into GBPVR on the channel config area if so what is the format just put all 8 numbers that Tuning assistant shows. the only program that could have fiddled with tv system services would be the freqcopy program I tried to use.

I've never had to do anything in there personally. From memory, its usually pretty empty. Quote:Also cant I enter the freq directly into GBPVR on the channel config area if so what is the format just put all 8 numbers that Tuning assistant shows. Its not really recommended, but you can enter frequencies in the place of channel numbers in the config app. What 8 numbers? It shows the frequency in the Tuning Assistant if that is what you're referring to.

well in my tunning assistant when I run it I see the frequency setting of 55437500 for channel 2 and 61437500 or channel 3. So how should I try to enter those into GBPVR I know that they represent like 554.375 mhz but do I put the period in or use a comma? or do I only enter the 6 meaningful digits or all 8? Maybe I need to delete the systems services registry entry maybe it is picking up zero values for it. Is there a possiblility that there is a wintv2000 service running in the background that is fuzzing it out?

Just type the full number, ie 55437500.

is it possible that I dont have .net 2.0 installed or directshow 9.0? as a cause I dont remember expressly installing those but I am xp SP2 on that machine. I am looking here
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/defaul...states.asp and those frequencies are not even close to what tuning assistant is giving me. If there is no TV Services entry in the registry then were does GBPVR get its info for what frequency to change the channel to?

Quote:is it possible that I dont have .net 2.0 installed or directshow 9.0?No, you've got everything that is required, otherwise you wouldnt even be able tos tart the software. Quote:I am looking hereAs I mentioned earlier in the thread, GB-PVR doesnt usually deal in frequencies. It tells Windows to switch to "USA/Cable/channel 12" and Windows take card of the rest. In the tuning assistant it asks Windows what the currently tuned frequency is after doing this so that it can display it. From what I've read, Windows has some hardcoded tables that map country code, tuning type and channel number to a frequency etc. These are in some DLL somewhere. These defaults can be overriden with the the frequency override registry settings, but this is usually not required. In my "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAudioTune" registry key I have two sub keys TS0-0 and TS0-1. Both are empty. |
