So the installer is there, at least. Are you sure you're logged in with admin privileges? I need to be able to see my source code so I can see if there are any other possibilities. I'll be back home in a few hours. I'll let you know.

Took what you had for the Community Skin version and tweaked it a little and is now part of the Community Skin install.

Might be best if you remove it then from your distribution or include this version.

Well, as you noticed, I did try to be "Community Skin-compliant".

Sadly, like many plugin developers, I'm still somewhat "skin-challenged". :o And, judging from the number of tweaks you had to make, I'm not yet quite with the program. I'll go through your changes in detail and see if I can figure out what I'm doing wrong.

from the DOS prompt (adjust this if you have gbpvr installed in a different directory). You must be logged on with administrator privileges to run this. If you still get an error, post it here (redirect it to a file or whatever).

The Install button on the controller window is basically trying to run this command. It gets the location of both the InstallUtil app and your gbpvr directory from the registry. The error message you're getting is complaining about not finding a file. So I imagine it must be one of these two files that it can't find.

I didn't change any Admin Rights. At first I thought it might be long / short pathnames but it works with both (See attachments, I tried both). The only thing I'm not sure about now is it said something about a rollback after I tried it more than once.

If this is the cause of other issues I have had, how do I set it "back to normal"?

If you wouldn't mind helping me try to figure out why it happened, do a "dir" on your C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework directory and let me know what you get. I'm using the directory with the highest release number to find InstallUtil.exe so maybe that could be the problem. If you feel a bit ambitious, run regedit and look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\.NETFramework and let me know what value you find for "InstallRoot".

You are probably using a logon with admin privileges. Most people do. That's why I forgot to mention it in the install instructions. The rollback message is OK. You have to uninstall a service before you can install it again. (eg: InstallUtil \u <service app>). This is probably not related to your other issues. The service is pretty much a standalone component but must be installed for UbuRadio's timeshift playback feature to work.

Yes, it is. That's the problem, right there. You have .Net 3.0 installed. (Wow! It was only announced 3 months ago. You are ahead of the game there. ).

My rather simplistic assumption was that .Net 2.0 would be the highest framework release number and, therefore, the last one in in the directory list. So, apparently, your .Net 3.0 distribution doesn't include InstallUtil and that's why the UbuRecordingService code couldn't find it.

I was really hoping to avoid getting my head into 3.0 just yet (at least until it stabilizes a bit). :eek: For now, maybe I'll just document the manual workaround on the wiki.
