See this page:

I tried those, but I don't have the key with

EnableVIMProtection

I also don't get menu->options->Closed captioning

It might be a Vista thing.

I think sub said that it only works with the cyberlink decoder. If you look in graphedit you would need to see the line21 decoder hooked up. Other decoders could work but sub hasn't added supported for them. Your other option is once the CC are in the mpeg stream, to use mpg2srt to separate the captions and then use the internal srt viewer. I keep wanting to try this, but I have to upgrade my system to xp since I think the new drivers are xp and up only.

Does the version of the Cyberlink decoder matter? I may test this when I have time.

Don't know. It also required VMR9.

Have you used mpg2srt? I don't know how well this works but it seems a lot more useful to be able to toggle CC on and off.

I haven't heard whether the new drivers have the timestamp issue or not. Any news that you know of?

I am using the latest (not beta) drivers and have not seen any timestamp issues although I will admit that I do not understand that issue fully.

I am also using mpg2srt without success. That is not because of mpg2srt but my learning how to call the postprocessing.bat file. It appears that when I have that bat file and comskip not run during a recording then comskip isn't run and I have to put it into the postprocessing.bat file. So some playing but should get it working soon.

You will know the timestamp issue if you get it. The timeline is off and trying to FF/REW doesn't work right.

If you have a postprocessing.bat, the settings for comskip that are set in config are ignored.
Do you have the latest mpg2srt.exe? Merrypig pulled it off lately.

This doesn't work right with avi's but with gbpvr recorded shows it works fine. No sync problems that I can detect.

I just found that out this morning and will have to add comskip into the postprocessing.bat file. As for mpg2srt, I believe I have the latest but am at work so can't check right now.

Merrypig is working on a solution to fix the rollup problem with how the closed captions are displayed. It sounded like it wouldn't be for a while. Maybe we could post process the srt file as a workaround. I'm still on win2k so it's a non issue until I upgrade to xp. Post with your results how it works if you don't mind.

oh I will, I'd like to help give back to this project however I can, especially after all the questions I've had Smile

You might not of remembered but the release notes for the latest pvr150 drivers supports win2k.
