Double Doh! Both machines got infected. AVG & Avast seems to have cleared it up but in the case of the GB-PVR PC it took half of Windows with it Sad

Time to repair / rebuild methinks.

ps. thanks for all the posts guys, esp those who gave me the virus heads-up.

I have no idea, although I shamefully admit I don't run any resident AV software. It seems strange how it hit the GB-PVR PC the hardest as its on very little. My main PC runs WinXP 64 tho so maybe that made a difference as I believe it has little to no 16bit support.

Just one of those things I guess...

I don't run any AV on my HTPC, but then again I only visit GB-PVR and device manufacturer's websites with it.

Definitely don't look at boobies with it. Big Grin

I didn;t run any AV until a month ago when NOD32 found a trojan on my PC.

I build a new pc for someone last week.
Installed XP SP2 slipstream
downloaded and installed drivers from ASUS and ATI
allowed all windows updates to install themselves
installed NOD32
found trojan

all from behind the routers firewall with SP2 firewall running all the time...

I read somewhere that it takes (average) 12 mins for a unprotected PC to get infected. This is without a firewall and without AV I guess.
