It shouldnt be a surprise. I've said the same thing numerous times over the last year or so. The 'Settings' screen was the start of this task. The config app wont be going away anytime soon though, definitely not in the next few releases, so dont let it bother you.

Interesting... Any hints on what it will be replaced by? I really like the config app. I think it's the best thing since sliced bread, because it's flexible.

I'll just slowly move more settings over to the 'Settings' screen. Initiallly the checkbox and droplist type settings, lastly I'd come up with some special screen to add capture source etc - probably a long long time from now though.

This isnt something I'm actively doing much yet - I only mentioned since the user asked why the sound setting wasnt in the config app. There have very few changes to the config app since I created the Settings screen, while new settings like 'system sounds' 'tv guide time period' etc are only in the Settings screen.

I am using PVRX2 1.0.16 and don't see System -> Settings. The sounds.xml file is still there. My wife really liked the sound feed back from the tivo and would like to recreate this for her if possible.

The 'System -> Settings' screen wasnt used much, so was low on my priority listing during the user interface rewrite. I will get to it, but I havnt yet.

You can enable the sounds by setting the following in config.xml:
<EnableSystemSounds>true</EnableSystemSounds>

It doesnt use many sounds by default, but you can add more in sounds.xml.

That is exactly what I was looking for. My wife enjoyed the feedback given from the tivo when navigating. I changed the default sounds in the sounds.xml file, I just couldn't figure out where to turn it on. Thanks again for all of the great work.

I have tried editing the XML directly to enable this but I get no sounds. Should I get sounds when using the keyboard or SendMessage to control PVRX2 ?
