The xmltv option is integrated with GB-PVR, but you have to supply your own listings file. Developers are making tools to make this easy for you, but these are little bit dodgy legally so obviously not something I can build into GB-PVR (dont want to risk the project being shut down).

Adding support for paid listings is just to help users that cant be arsed going the xmltv route.

Its up to you to decide what path you want to follow.

If a free alternative appears, that is legally ok, then I'll add support for it.

Either way, it sounds like paying for the zap2it service isn’t going to be an option for people using the built-n zap2it plugin and previous versions of gbpvr. Or any new version that isn’t specifically written for the paid service?

They've said they'll also do xmltv for those apps that need that kind of data, so this can be used with earlier version of GB-PVR.

Countless people around the world use xmltv grabbers and download their listings automatically.
They call the grabber using UpdatEPG.bat in the gbpvr folder, and the epg update is automatic.

That sounds good.
It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Hey sub,
On a side not I cant help but wonder how long it would take the gbpvr community to solve the worlds peace and prosperity issues.
If TV viewing was affected by it, I’m guessing about 2-weeks… Big Grin
It is an awesome community you have here. Wink

My biggest concern out of this whole thing is loosing the original air date data in the EPG. The Yahoo and Titan feeds from what I've seen doesn't have original air date or anything else that could be used to identify first run episodes of shows.

whurlston's grabber (or should I say Yahoo Go TV to GBPVR epg sync'r) gives the OAD field.

I'm testing a patched version of I-xmltv that gives the new show marker "*" and new show genre using it. Smile
