psycik Wrote:What type of database have you told ML2 it's using? And have you specified where it is? Its in the General Tab of the configuration App.

I have been using sqllite since its introduction. After I configured version 5.4, this time I did not configure 6.3. As a matter of fact I couldn't

psycik Wrote:Although I take it that Ml2 doesn't sho up inthe config.exe any more?

If you get that error you sent the picture for could you send me the config.exe.log and musiclibrary2.log if there.

I ws to see if i can see what point it's up to so I can trap the error

None of the plugins show-up in config.exe if Misiclibrary2.dll is in the plugins directory.
Logs attached

psycik, I don't know if you want my reports because I typically try and break things with mvpmc and then duplicate it with the Hauppauge dongle which isn't normal us. I'll try this one and if you find my reports outrageous let me know. I pick on ML2 a lot because it has helped me develop mvpmc so easily with GUI and media events happening all over the place.

Scenario
1 Hit Red Button to get a random play list
2. Hit Left or Right Arrow to do I'm not sure (I use it to test turning off blue highlighting if that makes sense)
3. Hit FF/RW

At this point all kinds of weird things can happen, I've even had to reset the Recording Service powering off/on the mvp wasn't good enough.

I don't if you find bugs. Big Grin

On my one performaing hte actions above using GBPVR/PC The ff/rw skip tracks and move the cursor around on the library screen.

This last update (6.3) should have at least made the track change if you're on PVRX2...

In general that works, but once you have a blue menu selection bar you can use the left right/key to make the blue selection colour disappear at which time ff/rw do weird things.

This in on the mvp I don't do much on the PC.

Martin.

I have reinstalled v6.3 again as follows:
- uninstall v6.3
- Remove the complete MusicLibarary2 section from config.xml
- Remove musiclibrary2.db3 from ..\gbpvr directory
- install v6.3, and copy the two .dll files to ..\gbpvr\plugins
- configure musiclibrary2 in config.exe. Left all settings apart from path/collection to music files as set by default.

Sofar no problems. Only after I scan my MP3 files via the plugins in config.exe crashes as described in my previous posts. I do not understand what is happening.

Yes I did copy those things to ..\gbpvr.
If I have the courage I will look further into this indexing. I think something strange was going on with the 'composers'-tag. I have to repeat that experiment to be absolutely sure.

So when you scan MP3s via the config application you get a crash window (dot net error window)??

I do get the error window as in this post from config.exe. In that post I had done the library update from within the ML2 application via the pop-up menu. In that situation at the end of the scan I also get the message that it could not find GBPVR.html. That file indeed does not exist. Should I have it?
Once I had the config.exe error the ML2 plugin is no longer available. The other plugins continue to function but are not visible in config.exe. That is what I meant by 'crashed'

Ahh, may have just found it... in your logs you try loading Database factory: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbFactory

It should be
System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteFactory

Hmm, maybe you've set you db to MusicLibrary2.db3, but you config app say MSAccess....
