I recorded Top Gear Polar Special tonight by selecting the program in the TV Guide & clicking on quick record. (UK, BBC2)

It recorded ok except that it was saved in the Manual recordings folder instead of the Top Gear Polar Special folder. IIRC, this didn't happen with the old version (0.9912)

Should this happen, sub?

I seem to have this happen with v1.0.16 and the new executable as well. It never happened with earlier versions.

I also use xmltv to get the listings and have epg complete reload enabled. The listings show up properly in the TV-guide from which I mainly add shows to be recorded. When I add shows from the web-gui it gets set properly, ie not as a manual record.

I live in Sweden (and the other guy in Brittain) so it's probable this *might* be an xmltv issue as different grabbers seem to be affected. As far as I know I run the latest xmltv-executable.

Anybody else seeing this problem?

Update: Saw that there is a new version (xmltv-0.5.48-win32.zip) of xmltv available. I'll download and try it out, see if problems go away.

It's happened to me in a slightly different way. Using 1.16 my wife was trying to record a programme. She selected it in the guide and pressed Enter (I was trying to explain over the phone), then selected Quick Rec. However when she exited from that screen the programme listing remained green. So she tried again and same result. Then tried doing a Record and All Episodes and now pvrx2 complained about a conflict with a manual recording (in fact the first request she had issued).

I told her to leave it and hoped like hell it would have worked :-(

Well when I checked later, pvrx2 had indeed recorded the show but had given the file name xxxxx_2007090610000000.mpg (Manual Rec). When I checked the guide the programme listing was still there so this is bit puzzling

At what point would this be? Ie when xmltv downloads the lists or when GBPVR updates the EPG from xmltv?

I update twice a day at 0000 and at 1200hrs if that's of any consequence.

I also have been having this problem. Guide is xmltv from yapi2xml.

Edit: I did a recording last night just like I've been doing all the others that end up manual but this time it actually worked. Different channel and show, huh?

Just to say that I've seen this too in the latest version. Only use MVP with MVPMC and had thought it might be more a problem with screen updates but now I think it's a bug in GBPVR. It works as it should about 25% of the time, teh other 75% is acts like the various entries above. I'll try and save some logs too. I also have a problem sometimes with series record where I have to leave the program guide (and sometimes even restart the MVP using the green button) to see the program in red in the guide even though it has set the recording. When either of these problems happens it always seems to change the red along the top of the guide to signal a recording is happening, just not the actual program in the guide.

I've just had it happened this afternoon and found this thread. All the below within an hour and no change in EPG data. EPG is from Radio Times.

(1) was told to make sure to record lat night of the proms BBC1 followed by BBC2 on Saturday evening.
(2) went into TV Guide on the MVP, moved to Saturday, and selected the first program and used the quick record function. Noticed that the program didn't change to red.
(3) Did same with second half on different channel. Noticed no Red on the selected programs.
There was the red at the top of the guide to indicate something was pending at this time. Went to a PC and checked the guide and it was the same - red at the top but not the two programs.
Restarted server just in case. No difference - then I noticed they were down as manual recordings - deleted them and did exactly the same as above and they went as normal.

I would have included the logs if there was anything of use in them. I've searched and grep'd through them and can find no mention of the program name (other than 'pending'). Logging was at debug but flush was off (whatever this new flag does). I've now turned it on and will keep a closer eye open for this happening.
Looking at my log of recordings, I see quite a number of them had been listed as 'manual recordings' with the date/time rather than the episode name. I never create manual recordings.
