remote not working in video plugin

Also, athomas - what do you use to handle your IR remote? Is it the hauppage ir.exe or whatever? Do you need to update the ini file to handle the X2 interface?

I do use the hauppauge ir.exe. It works fine everywhere except the video section. The installation of pvrx2 did put a section in the ini file so it should be ok. Its probably a simple fix once it is found. A few of us are having similar issues, so it is a common problem.

Just to clarify -

- The installation of 1.0.16 from 0.98.8 looked like it deleted a bunch of settings before doing the actual install. When I ran the config app, I had to reconfigure almost everything except for my channel lineups.
- PVRX2.exe has the problem with the remote not working. I have "enable direct access to Hauppauge remote" checked in the config.
- GBPVR.exe is no longer able to play videos at all. It almost seems to be trying to play videos on a second monitor.

On the one hand, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one seeing issues.. hoping someone finds a fix soon!

- I can use the remote while viewing recordings.
- I can use the remote in the video plugin to playback MPG files in my recordings directory.

The problem only seems to occur when I try to playback videos that use the XVid/DivX codec, so it is most likely a problem with focus.

I think I have the same issue; its probably a focus issue because I use a different program to send my remote commands.

it seems like once a video starts playing gbpvr loses focus because if i go click on it with the mouse then the remote works great. its really really annoying.

I missed this comment earlier. I'll have to try it out (clicking to regain focus) and go from there.

Allright, its definitely a divx or some sort thing. I've fixed it for me by loading girder (hip wouldn't send the commands to the window anyway) and making sure the keypresses were sent to pvrx2.exe. Really annoying but it works now.

Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

The only thing I'm aware of that can cause this is the known issue with the divx decoder that can steal the focus, switching it to it's own tray icon. This affects lots of apps. There was a tray kill fix somewhere on the divx forums. Alternatively switch to the xvid decoder, or ffmpeg, or some other decoder which doesnt generate this annoying effect.

I went into c:\windows\system32 and changed "divxsm.exe" to divxsm.exe.bak" and my Video Library-divx loss of focus problems were solved.
